BELFRY

Rhymney, 2008 04 06 1206, chiming after morning service, belfry only one chime, 34s use of torch
The belfry was very dark, so a torch had to be used.
The fittings are derelict, so the bells cannot be rung.
However, the bells can be chimed using the Ellacombe Apparatus on the first floor.
On this particular occassion, the ellacombe rope on the second bell was sticking and so could not be used to chime the bell, so to achieve rounds the second bell was chimed in the belfry by a ringer using his foot on the ellacombe clapper and the other five bells were chimed by a ringer at the Ellacombe Apparatus.
This particular video is a practice chime of the treble bell.
